Rose Bowl Strategic Plan:

Section 4.2 - Premium Seating Expansion / Press Box

This concept package proposes plans for renovation and expansion of the existing Press Box building in order to provide opportunities for enhanced premium seating revenue. The proposed plan utilizes substantial portions of the existing facility.

The E level has been converted into a club level with premium club seats and loge box seats. These areas share a club facility featuring premium dining, lounge, meeting rooms and concierge services. The F level remains as the suite level. Suites in the two wings are substantially increased in size and seating reconfigured to 12 tiered seats outside and 4 stools inside. There remain 6 VIP booths in the center section with a similar seating layout and a “Chancellor's Suite” at the 50 yard line with 24 outdoor seats and 8 stools inside. The G level, building roof, and field lighting remain as existing.

The proposed plan leaves the central core area (vertical circulation elements and toilet and support areas) of the existing structure, but rebuilds the two narrow wings above the D level. This strategy allows for greater manipulation of floor to floor heights, expanded seating section profiles, and increased capacities. The broadcast uses have been relocated to the D level, while the remainder of the media positions has been pushed up to a new the top level, G. Also at level D are the shared club facilities and amenities. The E level contains newly expanded suites, premium club seats, VIP booths, and “Chancellor's Lounge”. The F Level contains additional VIP booths, and at the wings, a substantial outdoor club seating area with a premium concession terrace looking west over the Arroyo Seco and mountains beyond. This plan reconfigures the existing roof and field lighting.

In additional to the expanded press box, a new “horizon level” is proposed to be constructed below the D level, either as a public concourse connected to the rear of the seating bowl, or for additional non-game day revenue opportunities. The plans also allow for phased capacity expansions with additional new construction.
