The Rose Bowl Stadium is in the first stage of a three-year plan that's expected to bring the famed venue up to date and on a par with some of the top sports facilities in the country.
The Pasadena Quarterbacks Club, which will begin its 67th year honoring local football, will get a sneak peak of what's happening at the Arroyo Seco when Rose Bowl Stadium officials speak at the club's season- opening meeting Friday.
The organization meets every Friday through November at the Marriot Courtyard at 180 N. Fair Oaks Ave. in Pasadena. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with a sit-down lunch available at 11:50. The cost is $20 for regular members and $30 for guests. Valet parking is available for $7, with public garage parking available for $5.
Future meetings will feature: USC associate head coach John Baxter next week; Pacific League football coaches Sept.23; and Rio Hondo League football coaches Sept.30.
