Rose Bowl to showcase renovations during NFL All-Access event

LA Sports & Entertainment Commission moves event to America's Stadium as project's second phase nears completion
PASADENA - The sports and entertainment industry will get a special preview of renovations to the historic Rose Bowl Stadium when the LA Sports & Entertainment Commission hosts its 10th annual NFL All-Access event here on July 12.
The event will feature, among others, legendary sportscaster Al Michaels, Hall of Fame Running Back and NFL Network analyst Marshall Faulk, and current NFL players Josh Freeman and Terrell Suggs, and offers an opportunity for sponsors and guests to interact with top names in professional football.
This year's program offers guests an added up-close-and-personal experience: A first-hand look at the Rose Bowl's unique renovation - one that preserves the integrity and history of the 90-year-old stadium while adding amenities that improve the fan experience. Key features include widened tunnels, a state-of-the-art scoreboard and all new premium seating.
The multi-year project is completing its second phase, which includes the new premium seating structure, in time for the fall 2012 UCLA football season.
“We're happy to host this year's LASEC event, and look forward to showcasing the work that has been done up until now,” said Darryl Dunn, Rose Bowl general manager. “This is a one-of-a-kind project we've undertaken. The Rose Bowl is a Pasadena and Southern California icon, but it's also an American icon, and from the start it has been our commitment to maintain the integrity and history of this incredible facility.”
As a result, the Rose Bowl Stadium will keep its designation as a National Historic Landmark - so appropriate for a venue that hosts “The Granddaddy of Them All” every Jan. 1 and was named by Sports Illustrated, in 2007, as the No. 1 venue in college sports. In January 2014, the Stadium will host the 100th Rose Bowl Game and, less than a week later, the BCS National Championship Game.
The All-Access event is part of LASEC's ongoing mission to promote major sporting events and venues that positively impact the local economy by attracting visitors to the city. This year's will include the Play Like A Pro challenge on the field (catching passes, throwing competition and field goal kicking challenge), an NFL equipment demonstration, locker room tour that includes official uniform displays for all 32 NFL teams and interactive FanFest booths on the field for guests to get up close and personal with their favorite teams. After a cocktail reception and buffet dinner presented by Wolfgang Puck Catering, guests will enjoy a preview of the upcoming season from current and former NFL players, coaches and executives.
