Take a 'Staycation' in Pasadena and enjoy the Summer Tasting Event

LOS ANGELES, July 7th, 2011 - Attention Street Food Fans! Don't let the 405 shut down comebetween your taste buds and some amazing treats and eats on July 16th! Are you on the Westside or near the 405? The City of Los Angeles and Metro are telling everyone to "avoid the area" and we agree. That's why we've secured guaranteed hotel rates and complimentary private shuttles so attendees can come to Pasadena for a great staycation that includes the LA Street Food Fest.

For the price of one, all inclusive ticket (all food, drinks, cocktails, beer gardens, the ice cream social, music, entertainment, giveaways and even parking are included) attendees can enjoy one of the three tasting sessions, bring a blanket and stretch out in comfort while you enjoy the best street food available anywhere! Forget standing in lines for hours on end at other events or the frustration of trying to travel in and around the Westside, relax, eat and drink at your leisure at The Summer Tasting Event! Mayor Villaraigosa is planning to join us and get away from the Westside madness, so should you!

Skip cars and highways! Take METRO to the LA Street Food Fest with our free Shuttle. We will run a free shuttle service from the Memorial Park Station (on the Gold Line) to the LA Street Food Fest every 30 minutes from 9:30 am - 9:30 pm.

By Car. For Eastsiders, there will be ample FREE dedicated parking at the Rose Bowl. We have purchased all the parking lots so attendees don't have to pay for parking.

By Bicycle. We'll have bicycle racks and security near the entrance to the LA Street Food Fest so you can lock your bike up there.

Exclusive Rates at the Courtyard Marriott. The Courtyard Marriot in Old Town Pasadena is offering LA Street Food Fest attendees a special guaranteed discount rate of $119 per night! The LA Street Food Fest was started not only to fill a gap in the local foodie and events scene with a delicious good time, but to create community and a platform to educate and support independent small business owners. For that reason, all of our events aim to do much more than just entertain. We host mandatory meetings for our vendors that cover everything from the basics of food handling to marketing skills, including how to create sustainable business models. Partial proceeds of all of our events support local causes, and a portion of every Summer Tasting ticket sold will go to support our charity partner: The Downtown Womens Center. Charity based tasting events often require vendors to donate their food and services, something we know can be challenging for new and less established vendors, and for that reason, the participation of every vendor at our Summer Tasting Event is being subsidized by us. For us, every event is an opportunity to do a little good and to help make this amazing city we call home a little better for it. We hope that you will join us in enjoying fantastic food and a great time, while also supporting our local community and LA's economy.
